Therapeutic Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Therapeutic Support Worker to join our team. This rewarding role will involve working with children and young people who have experienced domestic and family violence.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to make a positive impact in the lives of vulnerable children and families. As a Therapeutic Support Worker, you will be responsible for delivering therapeutic interventions and counselling services to help them heal and thrive.

* Develop and deliver trauma-informed counselling and group work interventions
* Support carers of child witnesses through information sharing and advocacy
* Engage with crisis intervention and safety planning as part of an integrated DFV response
* Co-ordinate with other services through embedded response work
* Facilitate community education and interagency collaboration to reduce DFV impact
* Prepare accurate case notes, assessments, and data reporting

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

* A Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling or a related discipline
* Experience working with children and young people in a therapeutic context
* A strong understanding of developmental stages for children, adolescents, and families
* A comprehensive understanding of gendered analysis in family violence and its specific impacts on children and young people
* Familiarity with therapeutic approaches including play therapy, sand tray, or movement-based modalities
