No specific experience is needed to be an exceptional Read Write Now volunteer tutor. Read Write Now's stimulating, and thoroughly enjoyable training program will prepare you for your volunteer role. From one-to-one tutoring at a local library to small group mentoring or classroom support, we match your skills, tutoring interest and life experience to the various specific needs and goals of our adult learners. Your local Coordinator and the Read Write Now office team are here to support that your volunteering experience is rewarding, satisfying and impactful. Through ongoing skills training, workshops and local catch-ups you are guided and connected to your fellow tutors.
Responsibilities
* Provide one-to-one tutoring, small group mentoring, or classroom support aligned to the needs and goals of adult learners.
* Utilize the training and resources provided to deliver effective tutoring sessions.
* Collaborate with the local Coordinator and Read Write Now team to ensure a rewarding volunteer experience.
Commitment
* Regular - more than 6 months
* Time required: 2-3 hours per week for tutoring and lesson preparation. Flexible tutoring hours, negotiable with the student.
Training
Full professional face-to-face and online training provided.
