About the Role
We are currently seeking compassionate, reliable, and experienced Home Care Package Support Workers who are fluent in Chinese (Mandarin and/or Cantonese preferred). You will be supporting older clients in their own homes with personal care, domestic assistance, and companionship to help them maintain independence and dignity.
Key Responsibilities
* Personal care including showering, toileting, and dressing
* Manual handling and mobility assistance (hoist training an advantage)
* Assistance with hygiene, grooming, and continence support
* Light domestic duties and meal preparation
* Social support and companionship
* Following tailored care plans and maintaining accurate notes
To be considered for this role, you must have:
* Current NDIS Worker check, Police Check, and Working with Children's Check.
* Certificate of NDIS Worker Orientation Program.
* A current First Aid Certificate and CPR certification.
* A valid Australian Driver's License & Reliable Car.
* A minimum of a Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability, or a related field.
* Experience working with people with Mental health disability and challenging behaviour.
* Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within the NDIS framework.
* Ability to provide 2 current/recent work-related references.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with diverse clients.
* A compassionate, empathetic, and patient approach to supporting individuals with disabilities.
* Excellent problem-solving skills, adaptability, and resilience in challenging situations.
To succeed in this role, you must have:
* Minimum 2 years of experience as a PCA (Personal Care Assistant) or similar role
* Certificate III or IV in Aged Care, Individual Support, or equivalent
* Experience in aged care or complex care
* Fluent in Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) – essential
* Willingness and ability to perform intimate personal care tasks
* Valid Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle
* Current Police Check, First Aid and CPR Certificate
* COVID-19 Vaccination (as required by regulation)
