Senior Civil Designer Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Civil Designer to lead our innovation in design technologies, including the use of AI tools. This is a permanent full-time position for someone who wants to contribute technically while driving innovation in CAD workflows.
The role can be based either at our Mordialloc or Newcastle office and involves designing and modelling using AutoCAD Civil 3D and other design platforms. You will prepare high-quality design drawings and presentation models, collaborate closely with engineers and designers, and lead or assist with AI and automation initiatives in the CAD workflow.

Responsibilities:
* Design and model complex infrastructure projects using AutoCAD Civil 3D and other design platforms.
* Prepare detailed design drawings and presentation models that meet client expectations.
* Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated solutions that meet business objectives.
* Lead or assist with AI and automation initiatives in the CAD workflow to improve efficiency and accuracy.
* Contribute to drafting standards and QA processes to ensure consistency and quality.
* Assist in mentoring junior staff and championing new technologies to drive innovation.
* Deliver accurate, timely outputs from BoQs to detailed 3D models.
Qualifications and Skills Required
To succeed in this role, you will need:
* Extensive experience in civil design, especially in mining infrastructure (dams, earthworks, stormwater, roads, landfills, cover systems).
* Strong proficiency with Autodesk AEC Collection tools, particularly Civil 3D and AutoCAD.
* Familiarity with QGIS, Global Mapper, Civil Site Design and Muk3D (training provided).
* Experience or strong interest in AI-powered design tools and scripting (e.g., Dynamo, Python, Grasshopper, ChatGPT workflows).
* Excellent attention to detail and a solutions-oriented mindset.
* A collaborative approach and strong communication skills.
* Willingness to contribute ideas to transform and streamline CAD processes.
* Experience with automating CAD tasks, data extraction, or model integration (preferred but not required).
* Exposure to BricsCAD BIM, FME, Revit, or other AI/CAD hybrids would be a plus.
