Join Hillwood Berries as their Financial Controller with a clear pathway to CFO
Your new company
Hays is proud to be working with Hillwood Berries in their search for a Financial Controller (FC) to join their team on a permanent full-time basis. Having been in operation since 2010, Hillwood Berries has operations in both Tasmania and QLD, and is committed to innovative farming practices using cutting-edge technology. As industry leaders, they grow berries under genetics developed by Driscoll's, one of the world's largest berry companies. When you purchase a delightful punnet of Driscoll Berries from your local supermarket, there's a high likelihood they were grown by Hillwood Berries.

Your new role
Based on-site at Hillwood, you will report to the Chief Financial Officer and play a critical role in leading the financial operations of the group, while providing strategic and commercial support. This newly created role includes leading a small team, overseeing financial compliance, and offering meaningful advice to the CFO to support effective decision-making. You will also focus on system improvements, reporting, and ensuring that daily financial operations run smoothly. This role is part of a 12-month transition plan from their current CFO, allowing for a structured and practical integration.

What you'll need to succeed
As a CA or CPA qualified professional with substantial leadership experience, you will have a demonstrated background in a similar position within a commercial environment. You will have a proven record of leading a finance team and enjoy providing strategic financial advice to the management team to assist with decision-making while remaining hands-on. You will have well-developed communication skills, exceptional attention to detail, and an analytical mindset that lends itself to problem-solving. You will also enjoy liaising with key stakeholders at different levels across the business with the ambition to become a CFO.
