About the Role
As a Periscope Maintenance Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of Collins Class Submarine Periscope Systems.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electronic and electrical engineering, with experience in diagnostic and repair work. You will be responsible for performing routine and urgent repairs on high-tech periscope systems aboard operational submarines.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Diagnose faults and carry out testing using advanced automated equipment.
* Assemble, integrate, and validate systems to strict OEM and safety standards.
* Be a go-to technical expert, including field service work across Australia and overseas.
* Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with quality and engineering standards.
* Get involved in continuous improvement, design support, and complex electronics rework.
Requirements
* A minimum of 3 years' experience in electronic, electrical, or precision engineering environments.
* Proven ability to diagnose and resolve faults at the component level.
* Relevant qualifications such as a Diploma, Advanced Certificate, or Associate Diploma in Electrical/Electronics, or equivalent hands-on experience.
* Familiarity with data acquisition systems, including Health and Usage Monitoring Systems (HUMS).
* Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain.
* Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations.
