Overview
Vinnies offers opportunities for members of the local community to give their time, talents and other skills to assist the less fortunate members of our community by volunteering to work in Vinnies shops. Volunteers assist to provide affordable clothing, furniture and other items at affordable prices for people on a limited budget. As a Vinnies volunteer you are a change-maker leaving a positive mark on your community.
Responsibilities
* Greet and provide friendly service and assistance to clients and customers including operating an EFTPOS machine.
* Assist in sorting, pricing, ticketing merchandise and displaying donated items in the shop.
* Perform all duties in line with the Vinnies values and in accordance with Retail Operations Manual.
* Observe and demonstrate good understanding of Workplace Safety and Health.
* Assist in maintaining the shop's cleanliness and hygiene standards which may include dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, washing up and mopping.
Volunteer Commitment
As a volunteer you will be required to work on a roster system based on your availability. If you are unavailable to attend on your rostered day it is your responsibility to inform the Retail Manager of your inability to attend, as soon as possible.

Time Required
Mondays - Saturdays 9:00am to 5.00pm (various shifts available). Each half-day shift is 4 hours in duration. Volunteers can also do a full-day shift of 7.5 hours in duration. The frequency of shifts is tailored to meet the individual volunteers needs. Volunteers can commit to as many or as few shifts as they like.
Training
Induction training & ongoing coaching & skills development opportunities will be provided.
