Communications Officer

Position overview: The Communications Officer is part of the Radio Operations Group, Technology & Communication Services Command. The primary role is responsible for tasking and coordinating activities of police vehicles responding to incidents and for processing urgent and non‐urgent telephone calls to provide timely information to operational police for appropriate action.

Responsibilities
* Task and coordinate activity of police vehicles responding to incidents.
* Process urgent and non‐urgent telephone calls to provide timely information.
* Collaborate with the Radio Operations Group and other teams to support operational effectiveness.
* Adhere to shift work schedules and penalty rates.
* Complete the paid, fifteen‐week training program and probation period required for appointment.
Requirements
* Permanent resident of Australia or New Zealand citizen.
* Successfully complete the paid, fifteen‐week Training Program at the Tamworth Radio Operations Centre.
* Pass a rigorous National Police Check and obtain and maintain a Security Clearance as determined by the NSW Police Force.
* Ability to work full‐time, including shift work as specified in the Crown Employees Award 2009.
