Our team is looking for an experienced professional to take on the role of Payroll Accountant.


About the Role

* The successful candidate will be responsible for processing payroll transactions, preparing pay runs, accruals, and provisions.
* They will also prepare subcontractor oncost transactions and employee-related costs to jobs based on timesheet information.
* The Payroll Accountant will review results to identify and correct mispostings.
* Additionally, they will prepare all payroll-related balance sheet reconciliations, including payment clearing accounts, leave provisions, and on-cost pre-payments/accruals.

Key Responsibilities:

* The Payroll Accountant will investigate and correct unknown balances appearing in the balance sheet.
* They will identify and highlight risks and issues that appear on the balance sheet.
* Preparation of payroll-related reports for internal stakeholders and response to queries from BU finance teams will also be a key responsibility.
* Assistance with period-end close activity will be provided by the Payroll Accountant.
* Process improvement opportunities will be identified and supported by the team.
* Maintenance of process or policy documentation will also be a key aspect of the role.
* Support will be provided with payroll or oncost audits of payroll data from the tax office or PWC.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

* A strong communicator with the ability to work across multiple internal stakeholder groups is required.
* CPA/CA qualification, minimum two years relevant finance experience, exposure to payroll processes, and high proficiency in Microsoft Excel are essential.
