About the role As a Design Coordinator, you’ll work closely with the Design Manager and broader team to support the successful delivery of high-quality, compliant, and cost-effective design solutions. You'll play a vital part in managing consultants, supporting value engineering efforts, ensuring documentation is aligned with project scope, and driving clear communication across stakeholders. As a Design Coordinator at McNab you will be undertake the following: Assist with overall coordination of the design process, from pre-construction through to project delivery Assist in the coordination of the design process and ensure compliance with budget, programmes, Approvals, Building Code of Australia (BCA) and other legislative requirements and clients requirements. Collaborate with consultants and stakeholders to ensure clear, accurate documentation that supports construction and buildability Identify and manage design risks and opportunities, with a strong commercial mindset Ensure documentation aligns with budgets, timeframes, and quality targets Assist the estimating team in the preparation of scopes and detailed design proposals for D&C projects. Contribute to site visits, RFIs, and managing design changes, variations and approvals Contribute to the effective control and administration of documentation from all parties (authorities, client, tenants, subcontractors etc.) Support project teams through assisting with clarification of any project design and construction issues. About you Degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Building Design or similar, with proven experience working in a similar role within the construction industry. Strong knowledge of the design management process and an understanding of the National Construction Code (NCC), Australian Standards and WHS legislation Possess good commercial and technical awareness. Have strong communication skills with an ability to build relationships at all levels of the business. Act decisively with an ability to problem solve.
