Temporary full-time position until January 2027 (potential for extension). 38 hours a week, rostered day off every fortnight, operational vehicle.
Salary: $86,559.98 - $100,596.60 + 12% superannuation per annum
Electrical and Control System Technician
Step into a vital technical role delivering electrical and control systems that keep essential water and wastewater services safe, reliable and running smoothly for the community. You will report to the Coordinator, Depot and Maintenance and be responsible for delivering electrical and control system works across Council's Water Services assets. You will carry out both planned and reactive maintenance activities, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with established procedures. The role operates within defined practices, approved budgets and allocated resources, with work plans in place to support service delivery.
Qualifications
* Fully qualified electrician with licence and at least five (5) years trade experience post qualification in preventative and reactive maintenance activities.
* Comprehensive experience and knowledge in electrical, automation hardware, PLC ladder programming, SCADA, IP radios and other control system instrumentation.
* Proven proficiency in computer applications including email, Microsoft Office suite and other technical applications relevant to the position.
* Comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislations including the Work Health and Safety Act and related regulations and procedures.
* Well-developed analytical skills and an innovative, flexible approach to fault‐finding and problem solving for various electrical and instrumentation systems.
* Well‐developed oral and written communication and interpersonal skills with the proven ability to provide clear, well‐constructed directions and advice.
* Hold a current C Class driver's licence, WHS Induction Card, Confined Space Entry Certificate and Working from Height ticket.
Other Requirements
* Complete a pre‐employment medical prior to commencement.
* Possess an immunisation record of Hepatitis A, B and Tetanus or willingness to obtain prior to commencement.
* Participate in on‐call roster on occasions and overtime where applicable.
