About Telfer Operations Telfer is a gold-copper mine located in the Paterson Province of the East Pilbara region of Western Australia. It includes both open-pit and underground mining operations, as well as the operation of Australia’s third-largest gold-copper processing facility. Since beginning gold production in 1975, Telfer has produced more than 15Moz of gold to date. Our Telfer operations offer a fly-in fly-out work arrangement, providing our workforce with a healthy work-life balance. Onsite, we offer a broad range of recreational activities, including a recently refurbished gym, swimming pool, driving range, movie room, and both dry and wet mess facilities. In addition to Telfer, Greatland owns 100% of the Havieron gold-copper, a world class development project with a multi-decade mine life, located 45km west of Telfer that will utilise the existing Telfer infrastructure to process Havieron ore, together with a significant exploration portfolio in the region surrounding Telfer. About the Role Our Telfer Operations are currently seeking a safety-conscious and diligent Fire Systems Technician to support safe production by ensuring reliable operation, maintenance and longer-term integrity of the site wide Fire Systems including Surface & Underground operations. This is a permanent full-time role at our Telfer mine site, FIFO from Perth on an 8 days on /6 off roster. Reporting to the Fire Systems Supervisor, key deliverables of this role include: Maintenance of equipment in a reliable and cost-efficient condition Leading by example in adherence to company policies and procedures Monitoring and reporting on status of Fire Systems and equipment, and ensuring statutory paperwork is kept to a high standard Provide guidance to fire technicians short & long term Foster a culture of continuous improvement About You To succeed in this role, you will have a demonstrated track record in continuous improvement of assets with competencies in Wet, Deluge and Foam Deluge Sprinkler Systems, Fire Pumps, Hydrants, Hose Reels and PEFS. You will be a forward-looking team member with excellent work-ethics and a passion for continuous improvement. Experience with Fire Detection Alarm Systems and Gaseous Fire Suppression Systems will be advantageous as well.
