Country Diesel Maintenance (CDM) is a well-established, independently owned mechanical workshop based in Alice Springs, servicing diesel, light vehicle, fleet and industrial customers across Central Australia. We work with our customers to create quality results, not a tick and flick.
We are seeking a Service Advisor who can take ownership of customer communication, job flow, and front-of-house workshop coordination - with the support from established systems and an experienced team.

About the Role
As Service Advisor, you will manage customer bookings, Service Orders, estimates, workflow coordination and customer updates from booking through to completion. You will work closely with technicians, parts suppliers, and management to ensure work is planned, authorised, completed, and billed correctly.
This is an active, hands-on role that suits someone who likes understanding how jobs progress in the workshop .

Key Responsibilities
* Manage customer bookings, estimates and approvals
* Build accurate service orders with correct labour and parts allocation
* Keep customers informed of job status and cost changes on the day of service
* Actively coordinate with technicians to reduce downtime and bottlenecks
* Monitor work in progress (WIP)
* Use workshop and CRM software to track jobs, schedules and enquiries
* Liaise with parts suppliers and assist the parts departments coordination when required
* Maintain accurate records, filing, and front office organisation
* Ensure safety, environmental and confidentiality requirements are met

What We're Looking For
Essential
* Strong computer literacy and confidence using business software
* Highly organised, structured thinker
* Proven customer service experience
* 1-2 years of Service Advisor experience or similar customer-facing role in the automotive industry
* Clear communication skills (verbal and written)
* Valid car licence (C class)
* Willingness to learn computerised service management systems
* Training and support will be provided to help you succeed in our systems and processes.
* Experience with any workshop management system is preferred to ensure efficient job tracking and customer communication

* Parts interpreting experience
* Mechanical or automotive exposure (trade or non-trade)
* Experience in a workshop, fleet, or industrial service environment
* Ability to manage competing priorities without losing accuracy
