Shadbolt - HSE Manager
Shadbolt Group is seeking an experienced HSE Manager to lead and embed Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) practices across our multi-site operations. This is a dual-focused role, combining strategic oversight of HSE systems and performance with hands-on support to operational teams across projects, workshops, and office environments.

As HSE Manager, you will play a critical role in shaping HSE strategy at a corporate level while also ensuring effective implementation across operational sites. You will influence leaders, support frontline teams, and drive continuous improvement across the business.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and implement the HSE strategy aligned with business objectives and legislative requirements
* Develop, maintain, and continuously improve HSE management systems, frameworks, policies, and procedures
* Ensure compliance with WHS and environmental legislation across all sites and jurisdictions
* Provide strategic and operational HSE advice to senior leadership and site-based teams
* Monitor HSE performance, analyse trends, and deliver meaningful reporting and insights to leadership
* Lead incident investigations, ensuring root cause analysis and corrective actions are effectively implemented and embedded
* Conduct and support internal audits, inspections, and assurance activities across operations
* Facilitate risk management processes, including hazard identification and development of effective controls
* Oversee contractor HSE management, including prequalification, monitoring, and performance improvement
* Deliver HSE training, leadership engagement sessions, and site-based safety initiatives
* Act as a key liaison with regulators, clients, and external stakeholders on HSE matters
About You
We are looking for a capable and credible HSE leader who can operate across both strategic and operational environments:
* Tertiary qualification in Work Health & Safety, Environmental Management, or related discipline
* 8-10+ years' experience in HSE roles within engineering, construction, manufacturing, or similar industries
* Proven ability to operate effectively in both corporate and site-based environments
* Strong knowledge of WHS and environmental legislation and compliance requirements
* Demonstrated experience influencing leaders and frontline teams
* Strong capability in incident investigation, risk management, and auditing
* Excellent communication, reporting, and stakeholder engagement skills
* ICAM or equivalent investigation training (desirable)
* Lead Auditor qualifications (ISO 45001, ISO 14001) highly regarded
