As the Head of Home Economics and Visual Arts, you will have responsibility for leading the school department to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focused on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
You will lead strategic directions within the Home Economics/Visual Arts faculty, aligned to the school's Annual Improvement Plan and focused on providing quality learning outcomes for all students. This includes:
* Developing and implementing strategic actions through influencing, delegation and teams;
* Implementing the Australian Curriculum for Years 7 to 10, including unit preparation, assessment, reporting and moderation;
* Direction and oversight of class practices, including planning, delivery and assessment;
* Setting high standards for student and staff performance, including leadership and management of teachers, learning support staff and teacher aides;
* Understanding and communicating legislation and policies that impact schooling, with a strong focus on Safety, CARA and Excursion responsibilities;
* Embedding socially just practices in daily school life;
* Actively participating in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development;
* Forming partnerships with students, parents, other government agencies, and community groups;
* Being futures oriented and strategic; and
* Managing human, financial, facilities and curriculum resources of the school department to achieve goals.
