The Bureau of Meteorology is seeking a motivated and high performing individual to support the National Security and Space Program (NSSP) deliver flagship projects. As the Project Support Officer, your work within the National Security and Space Capability Delivery team, will directly support Project Managers with achieving their outcomes and enhance the Program's capabilities. The role requires you to have a sound knowledge of the program, functions of the Bureau and an understanding of how these intersect with the broader organisation.
The NSSP sits within the Bureau's Business Solutions Group and is the primary provider of environmental and space weather intelligence to sectors integral to Australia's national security, ensuring our partners have the right information at the right time to deliver their outcomes. NSSP provide a range of key products and services to Defence, the private space sector and the Australian public. Reporting directly to the Manager of National Security and Space Capability Delivery (EL2), and working within a supportive team environment, you will be encouraged to share your innovative ideas to shape strategic program plans and actively contribute towards impact and value provided to the Bureau's customers and partners.

Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to coordinate disparate project stakeholders is a primary requirement to support the cross-collaborative nature of NSSP projects. The position involves supporting NSSP Project Managers with booking meetings, taking minutes, following up on actions, troubleshooting, task management and project coordination. You will ensure project deliverables are completed on time, have a general awareness of budget management, and align your duties with the Bureau's Project Delivery Framework.
The Project Support Officer role is ideal for someone who wants to grow their career in the Project or Change Management stream and who enjoys working in a secure and dynamic public sector environment. Furthermore, the role is suited to a confident individual who is highly organised, efficient with a good attention to detail. Experience in using the Microsoft Office 365 suite is essential and a familiarity with customer relationship management tools such as Dynamics 365 CRM would be beneficial.
