Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic School is a co‐educational primary school situated in Lenah Valley. We cater for students from Kinder to Grade 6 in a caring, friendly, family environment.

We are seeking a dedicated, relational and highly skilled Student Support Coordinator. This is a key leadership role that supports the spiritual, academic and wellbeing needs of all students, ensuring every child is known, valued and supported to flourish.

The Student Support Coordinator leads the coordination of learning support, wellbeing initiatives and inclusive education practices across the school. The role works closely with teachers, support staff, families and external providers to ensure high‐quality, personalised learning experiences for students with diverse needs, including those with disabilities, learning difficulties, behavioural needs, and students who are gifted and/or talented.

About the Role

The Student Support Coordinator is the key teacher responsible for student support across the school. Core responsibilities include:

* Lead the coordination, development and review of Individual Learning Plans (ILPs).
* Oversee targeted support for students with specific needs, learning difficulties and diverse learning profiles.
* Coordinate the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD) and associated accountability requirements.
* Work collaboratively with teachers, teacher assistants and specialist staff to implement differentiated curriculum, personalised learning environments and assistive technologies.
* Provide modelling, coaching and advice on effective teaching strategies, behaviour support, transition planning and inclusive practices.
* Liaise with external specialists, agencies and NDIS providers as the primary point of contact.
* Lead the coordination and implementation of wellbeing programs and initiatives across the school.
* Support the Principal with students presenting behavioural needs, ensuring restorative, respectful and student‐centred approaches.
* Coordinate Learning Plan meetings, case conferences and professional learning for staff.

Required Skills, Experience and Attributes

* Considerable experience as a classroom teacher across a range of grade levels.
* Demonstrated commitment to inclusive education and supporting students with diverse needs.
* Experience implementing differentiated curriculum and personalised learning approaches.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work professionally with colleagues, parents and external providers.

Qualifications

* Postgraduate qualification (or working towards) in Inclusive Education.
* Tertiary study with a focus on students with specific needs.
* Ability to conduct targeted assessments.
* Current Motor Vehicle Licence.
