Accountant Role
We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our finance team. This role is crucial in providing financial support for project bids, reporting, and overseeing the preparation of consolidated monthly accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
* Financial Reporting: Prepare consolidated monthly accounts for all groups and associated entities in line with our accounting policies.
* Project Finance: Assist in providing financial information and structuring for project bids.
* Monthly Reports: Customize and prepare monthly finance group and associate management reports, including Dashboard, KPI, and variance analysis.
* Audit Support: Provide assistance during the year-end audit process.
* Budgets & Forecasts: Aid in preparing budgets and rolling forecasts.
* System Improvements: Lead improvements in using TechnologyOne and other financial systems to streamline processes.
* Stakeholder Support: Assist parent entity personnel in understanding monthly group accounts and responding to related queries.
Required Skills and Competencies:
* Financial Strategy: Provide strategic advice on financial sourcing strategies, governance frameworks, and financial performance monitoring.
* Financial Accounting & Compliance: Ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards (AAS) and provide technical financial advice.
* Management Accounting: Develop comprehensive budgets and forecasts, analyse financial data, and support strategic business decisions.
* Audit & Assurance: Lead technical audits, ensuring compliance and recommending financial control strategies.
* Finance Operations: Enhance financial system capabilities, review processes, and apply emerging technologies for continuous improvement.
Minimum Requirements:
* CPA or Equivalent Certification is essential.
* Industry Experience: 5+ years in a similar role within engineering, construction, utilities, or infrastructure sectors.
* Technical Expertise: Experience with TechnologyOne, FinanceOne, ETL, and XLONE.
* Advanced Excel Skills for financial reporting and data analysis.
* Strong Knowledge of AAS & Treasury Policies: Familiarity with Australian Accounting Standards and National Treasury policies.
* Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders effectively.
