The Opportunity
We are seeking a driven and customer-focused Account Manager – Timberwood Panels to manage and grow an established customer portfolio across the Gold Coast and South East Queensland.
This role has a strong focus on decorative panels, cabinetry, joinery and interior applications, working closely with cabinetmakers, joiners, manufacturers and trade customers. While new business development is part of the role, success will come from deep product knowledge, consultative selling and trusted relationships within the cabinetmaking and joinery market.
You'll be supported by an experienced operational team across the Big River Group South East Queensland network and act as the key interface between customers and our manufacturing and supply capability.
The position includes a fully maintained company vehicle and requires regular site and workshop visits.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and grow a portfolio of cabinetmakers, joiners, manufacturers and trade customers
* Build strong, long-term relationships through regular site and client visits
* Provide product-led solutions across Timberwood Panels and decorative panel ranges
* Prepare accurate quotes, tenders and sales proposals
* Generate new business through structured call cycles and proactive territory planning
* Partner closely with internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery
* Resolve customer issues promptly and professionally
* Stay aware of industry trends, competitor activity and local market conditions
About You
To thrive in this role, you'll bring commercial acumen, strong relationship capability and the confidence to operate independently across a broad geographic territory. You will ideally have:
* Sales or account management experience in timber, panels, cabinetry, joinery or related trade environments
* OR a background as a cabinetmaker or joiner looking to transition into a commercial/account management role
* Confidence discussing decorative panels, substrates, finishes and cabinetry applications
* Strong communication, negotiation and customer engagement skills
* Experience managing customer portfolios, quotes and follow-up routines
* High levels of organisation, time management and problem-solving
* A proactive, resilient mindset with a solutions-focused approach
* Understanding of WHS requirements within trade or manufacturing environments
* A valid driver's licence and professional presentation
Tertiary qualifications in Business, Sales or Marketing are advantageous but not essential.
