The Role
APS 4 Executive Assistant is accountable under limited direction to support the Director General Maritime Maintenance Branch. They will be accountable to have a good understanding of and compliance to relevant legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence's mission and policy requirements. Accountable for organising their workflow, making decisions within their defined parameters relating to area of responsibility and will seek guidance when required. They may exercise some discretion with respect to how legislation, procedures and guidelines are interpreted and applied to their work. They will provide administrative support that is informed and directed by their knowledge of the administration function.
They may undertake some research and analysis activities. They may be required to share information, monitor work practices, set work priorities and develop local procedures. May be required to communicate with, respond and provide advice to stakeholders on moderately complex operational and administrative issues to achieve work unit and Defence outcomes.
About our Team
The Maintenance Branch provides an integrated and consistent approach to continuous sustainment to enable the preparation of Naval power in order to enable the integrated force in competition and conflict. Our team is responsible for working collectively with the four Regional Maintenance Centres (RMC) which are 'Sustainment Centres' that have been established in strategically located ports across the country in Darwin, Cairns, Sydney and Perth. These RMC's are integrated through RMC National, located in Sydney, and will be focused on ensuring standardisation and efficiency can be delivered across the network.
