About the role Are you a passionate and dedicated Social Worker, Psychologist, or Counsellor, who is committed to supporting child and adult survivors of sexual assault and family violence? Southwestern Centre Against Sexual Assault (SWCASA) invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for 2x Counsellor/Advocate positions within the service. Our SWCASA team provides specialised counselling to children, young people and adults who have experienced sexual assault or family violence, and to their non-offending family or support networks. We also provide intervention and support to children and young people who engage in harmful sexual behaviour. In addition, these roles will have the opportunity to assist with our intake response, community education, therapeutic group programs and the SW family violence partnership program- Heart - For Healing, Empowerment and Recovery after Family Violence. Reporting to a SWCASA Team Leader, you will join a team of highly skilled and qualified clinicians and receive regular clinical supervision and peer support. Position overview - multiple positions available! * Part-time (32 hours per fortnight), On-going position * Part-time (72 hours per fortnight), fixed term position - 12 months with potential opportunities for extension * Warrnambool, Portland or Camperdown locations * Classification: Social Worker Grade 2 * Salary Range: $90,235.60 - $103,724.40, plus superannuation * Monthly ADO for full time staff What you bring A tertiary qualification in social work, psychology or counselling is essential, coupled with a minimum of 2-years' experience in providing counselling within a trauma-recovery or trauma-informed model of care. With a comprehensive understanding of the issues relating to sexual assault and family violence within a gendered context, you will have significant knowledge and expertise in working therapeutically with children, young people and adult survivors of both recent and historical sexual violence. Applications from individuals with previous experience in delivering intervention and/or case management within the context of harmful sexual behaviours are strongly encouraged. The successful applicant will have excellent written, communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to work autonomously and within a team.
