Details: The City Renewal Authority (CRA) is seeking a senior, hands-on executive leader as Executive Branch Manager, Urban Design and Place. Reporting to the Executive Group Manager, Urbanisation and Renewal, this role is responsible for leading the planning, design and delivery of development master planning, placemaking and public realm design projects across the City Renewal Precinct. The position combines strategic leadership with active involvement in day-to-day project delivery, providing expert design advice, overseeing consultants, contributing directly to design review and approvals processes, and working closely with teams, partners and government agencies to progress live projects.
The successful candidate will bring strong experience working in, or closely with government, along with a proven track record in urban renewal and public realm delivery. This role requires an executive who is comfortable taking a hands-on approach, leading multidisciplinary teams through complex operational environments, and balancing governance requirements with practical delivery. Experience in development master planning, precinct scale planning, placemaking and public realm infrastructure, alongside strong people leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills, will be essential to succeed in this role.
Remuneration: The position attracts a remuneration package ranging from $289,335 - $298,258 depending on current superannuation arrangements of the successful applicant. This includes a cash component of $254,964.
Contract: The successful applicant will be engaged under a performance-based long-term contract for a period of up to five years. Prospective applicants should be aware that long-term engagements are tabled in the ACT Legislative Assembly.
