About the Role

The Lead Permit Coordinator is responsible for managing the health, safety and wellbeing of all personnel, and environmental aspects associated with Hancock Energy's Gas Project, through developing, maintaining and implementing the project Permit to Work system and isolation processes. The position will evolve as the project moves from a development phase into an execution phase and as such will subsequently report into the Project Manager.

Long fixed term contract until December 2028

Key Responsibilities

* Control all Permit to Work issued for construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and operations.
* Adherence to Health Safety and Environment standards, policies and procedures is of upmost importance to the successful execution of this role.
* Ensure safe systems of work are implemented minimising risk to health and safety for all personnel.
* Ensures the project is delivered at the highest standard and complies with all regulatory requirements, including HSE requirements by participation in safety reviews, Safety in Design, HAZOP or similar, as required.
* Conform to Hancock Energy's policies, standards, procedures, and relevant acts/legislation.
* Review and report incidents, non-conformances and near miss investigations to prevent recurrence, and participate in incident investigations when required.
* Provide weekly reports to the HSE Manager and Project Manager for inclusion in reports to the Project Director.
* Support to the HSE Manager and project management team as required with Permit to Work, isolation processes and HSE matters.
* Development and management of Permit to Work and isolation processes applicable to the works including construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and operations.
* Ensure transition to an operations Permit to Work system post commissioning.
* Manage and maintain Permit to Work software.
* Develop Permit to Work and isolation process training packages and provide training in Permit to Work and maintain training records.
* Ensure all supervisors and leading hands receive Permit Holder and isolation process training.
* Ensure all workers receive basic training in Permit to Work.
* Maintain all Permit to Work processes and records in accordance with current legislation and best practice.
* Represent the Principal and HSE Manager at Contractor meetings on matters relating to Permit to Work, isolation processes and health and safety.
* Participate in incident investigations and champion best practice outcomes to prevent recurrence.
* Provide regular and structured analysis of Permit to Work and Isolation process performance and program effectiveness.
* Monitor and audit Permit to Work and isolation processes of Contractors and provides information regarding Contractor HSE performance to the HSE Manager and Project Manager.
* Manage corrective actions follow up and close out from investigations, inspections and audits in relation to Permit to Work and isolation processes.
* Provide visible leadership (lead by example) modelling positive safety behaviours to all personnel.
* Seek opportunities that enhance and streamline the project HSE management system, Permit to Work and isolation processes.
* Show initiative to identify and address issues before they arise, with the aptitude and flexibility for taking on new challenges.
* HSE Performance, including but not limited to - Audits/Inspections, FA, MTIs, LTIs, near misses, non-compliances.
* Project delivered with no environmental harm.
* Statutory/Lease conditions met.

To be successful in this role, you will have

* HSE and wellbeing skills and knowledge.
* Minimum of 10 years construction and process experience, preferably including major construction projects and oil and gas sector
* Strong safety focus and knowledge.
* Knowledge of construction risk assessment & incident investigation.
* Knowledge and application of construction industry practices, Legislation, Codes, & Australian Standards.
* Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise mature judgement, as demonstrated throughout previous work experience.
