Are you an inspiring leader with a passion for driving sustainable economic growth? The City of Karratha is seeking a dynamic Manager City Growth to lead strategic initiatives that shape the long-term prosperity, liveability and environmental sustainability of our community.
As part of the Development Services directorate, this pivotal role provides strategic and operational leadership across Economic Development, Tourism, and Sustainability portfolios. You will be a trusted advisor to the Executive and Council, fostering partnerships with business, industry and government to deliver projects and strategies that strengthen the region's economic resilience and support vibrant, sustainable growth.
About the Role
In this highly influential position, you will:
* Lead the development and delivery of key strategies including the Economic Development and Tourism Strategy, Environmental Sustainability Strategy, Carbon Reduction Plan, and Housing Action Plan.
* Lead continuous improvements in visitor servicing and drive opportunities for tourism development
* Provide expert advice on regional economic trends, investment opportunities and sustainable development.
* Oversee high-performing teams that drive innovation, continuous improvement and community-focused outcomes.
* Manage complex projects, budgets and partnerships that contribute to the City's strategic vision.
* Represent the City in regional and state forums, advocating for Karratha's long-term growth and success.

About You
To succeed in this role, you will have:
* Extensive experience in economic development, strategic planning or related discipline, ideally within government or regional development settings.
* Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, inspire innovation, and foster accountability and excellence.
* Strong strategic, analytical and communication skills, with the confidence to influence senior stakeholders and drive meaningful change.
* A commitment to sustainability, economic diversification and inclusive community growth.
* Relevant tertiary qualifications and a sound understanding of governance, policy and compliance frameworks.
