About the Role
CompleteSMS is an established SMS software services provider in the process of bedding in an extensive technology upgrade from a proprietary system to an AWS cloud-based system. As such, we are looking for an experienced QA Specialist and Compliance Manager to join the team and play a pivotal role in striving to deliver a quality platform to customers.
This is a 30hr/wk hybrid position based out of our Brisbane development HQ with a few required days in the office, so you'll need to be close enough to commute. As for the remote days, there's a distinct need for an individual who can work independently as well as collaborate and support others on the team when needed in person or via Slack, Zoom or phone calls.
Role and Responsibilities:
QA:
Develop, implement, and oversee quality systems, standards, and processes to ensure products/services meet specifications and customer expectations. The candidate will lead our QA team, conduct audits, analyse data for improvements, and manage documentation. They will drive a quality culture, improve efficiency, and align QA with business goals.
Compliance:
Creating policy frameworks, overseeing compliance programs, managing control systems, investigating violations, and advising on regulatory changes to prevent legal issues and build stakeholder trust. Monitoring changes in laws and regulations and adapting internal procedures to address them.
Key Responsibilities:
* Strategy & Planning: Develop QA roadmap, and create procedures to meet standards.
* Process Management: Oversee testing, audits, and inspections; implement quality tools (like statistical methods) to monitor and control processes.
* Team Leadership: Recruit, train, motivate, and manage QA staff; foster teamwork and resolve conflicts.
* Compliance & Standards: Ensure adherence to internal policies, external regulations, and industry standards (e.g., ISO, GMP).
* Data & Reporting: Collect and analyze quality metrics (bug rates, efficiency); report on system effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
* Policy & Procedure Development: Draft, implement, and update company-wide policies and procedures to meet legal and regulatory standards.
* Monitoring & Auditing: Conduct internal audits and review business processes to ensure adherence to established controls and identify non-conformities.
* Training & Education: Design and deliver training programs to educate employees on compliance requirements, ethics, and new regulations.
Skills and Qualifications:
Required:
* 5+ years experience as a Senior QA Specialist, or similar role, with solid computer science fundamentals.
* 5+ years experience in overseeing compliance with standards and creating new procedures to match evolving regulations
* Able and willing to learn new technologies
* Willingness to mentor and guide junior testers, fostering a collaborative and learning-focused environment
Preferred:
* Experience in the telecommunications industry
* Experience working in an Agile team environment
* Experience with tools such as Trello, G-Suite, and are also beneficial
* Small team leadership experience
