An opportunity has become available for an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join the finance team and play a key role in maintaining financial integrity, supporting strategic decision-making, and driving process improvements across the business.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, this position will act as the critical link between transactional finance and high‐level financial reporting. You will take ownership of balance sheet integrity, support cash flow management, oversee complex reconciliations, and contribute to the ongoing enhancement of financial processes and reporting capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
* Own month‐end financial reporting, including journals, accruals, prepayments, provisions, general ledger maintenance, and variance analysis.
* Manage balance sheet integrity through complex reconciliations, fixed asset accounting, and group bank reconciliations across multiple entities.
* Support cash flow forecasting, working capital management, payment runs, and broader financial performance reporting.
* Oversee intercompany accounting, consolidations, and compliance obligations across operations.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives across reporting, controls, ERP systems, and shared services functions while supporting audits and statutory requirements.
About You
* Degree qualified in Accounting or Finance, with CA/CPA qualification
* Minimum 4 years' Financial Accounting experience; exposure to construction, infrastructure, manufacturing, engineering, industrial services, or other heavy industry sectors will be highly regarded.
* Strong understanding of Australian accounting standards, financial reporting requirements, and compliance obligations.
* Advanced ERP systems experience, strong Excel capability, and the ability to analyse and communicate financial insights to stakeholders.
* High attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast‐paced environment while managing competing priorities.
