Underground Mining Specialist
We are seeking an enthusiastic Underground Mining Specialist to join our team due to ongoing growth. Reporting to the Production Superintendent, you will assist in providing engineering expertise to ensure safe and efficient operation of the mine.
* Main Responsibilities:
* Developing initial productivity assumptions based on historical performance and data considerations
* Utilising production modelling tools to schedule mine outputs (tonnes, metres etc) for the following 12-month period
* Contributing to production schedule optimisation based on maximum and minimum floats
* Assisting in developing panel planning standards prior to the commencement of each
* Undertaking mine option assessments (covering the range of possible operating cases) in consultation with the Mine Manager – Whynot, Production Manager and Maintenance Superintendent
* Building relationships with key stakeholders to support operational objectives of the mine
* Requirements:
* Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or related field
* Experience in a productive underground coal mine
* Willingness to learn various technologies employed in the profession
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
* Commitment to continuous improvement and technological advancement in mining
* Demonstrated commitment to safety
* Ability to pass an industry medical assessment prior to commencement
