Senior Dragline Project Manager – Long-Term Contract
We are seeking an experienced Senior Dragline Project Manager for a long-term contract to lead and support the delivery of major dragline capital projects and planned maintenance shutdowns at Curragh.
Project Overview
* Location: Blackwater, Queensland
* Scope: Senior project management leadership across dragline major component exchanges, capital rebuilds, and planned maintenance shutdowns
* Duration: Long-term (12+ months)
* Start Date: Immediately
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will report directly to the Superintendent Projects and take ownership of the following:
Leading end-to-end planning and execution of dragline major shutdowns and capital projects, including bucket, boom, mast, and drive system exchanges. Ownership of project cost, scope, schedule, and risk management across all phases. Development and ongoing maintenance of a 5-year dragline infrastructure and capital planning roadmap. Stakeholder management across mine operations, OEM partners, and contract maintenance workforces. Delivery of brownfield improvement projects between major shutdown windows. Mentoring and technical oversight of junior project and engineering personnel on site.
Qualifications & Experience
* A degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Mining) is preferred but not essential — demonstrated experience will be considered.
* Dragline experience is a must.
* A strong track record in shutdown planning and execution, solid commercial acumen with experience managing multi-million dollar project budgets, and well-developed stakeholder and contractor management skills.
Roster & Working Arrangements
* The expected roster is Monday to Thursday onsite, with Friday from a home office.
* Roster arrangements are negotiable as project phases evolve, with options for a 2-weeks-on/1-week-off rotation or Brisbane-based offsite work considered on a case-by-case basis.
* Standard onsite hours are 8-10 hours per day, with 12-hour days available. Offsite days are capped at 8 hours unless urgent project matters require otherwise.
* During major shutdowns, the Project Manager is expected to be available for the full duration — including weekends and nights as required. This availability is non-negotiable given the operational criticality of dragline uptime.
* All site inductions, S11, and Coal Board Medical costs are fully reimbursable for candidates who commit to the full secondment duration.
* Flights, vehicle, meals, and accommodation are provided by the Client.
