Training & Safety Solutions (TSS), the RTO of MTC Australia, delivers accredited and non-accredited training to individuals in immigration detention facilities. About The Role
We're seeking a creative Instructional Designer to lead the digital transformation of our training programs. You'll design and build engaging, compliant learning content directly into our LMS (A New Spring), supporting adult learners across a range of accredited and non-accredited courses. This includes developing training and assessment strategies, assessments, templates, and trainer resources. You'll report to the National Manager, Education, and work with our Student Management System (JR Plus).
This is a 12-months fixed term full-time role based on a hybrid working model: two days per week onsite at Springfield and three days remote. The position runs Monday to Friday, and we're open to flexible start and finish times to support work-life balance.
In your new role, you will:
* Develop engaging learning resources and assessment tools that comply with ASQA and VET standards
* Create Training and Assessment Strategies and mapping documentation aligned with AQF requirements
* Use a variety of instructional design methods and adult learning principles to ensure accessibility and learner engagement
* Design content for blended delivery modes
* Manage multiple projects with competing deadlines while maintaining quality and compliance
* Support continuous improvement through validation, feedback, and data analysis
* Collaborate closely with trainers, assessors, and stakeholders to ensure materials meet learner needs and business objectives
To be successful, you will:
You'll bring a strong instructional design background combined with solid VET compliance knowledge and be a self-starter who can independently manage projects and deliver high-quality, learner-centred content directly into digital platforms.
You'll bring:
* Cert IV in Training and Assessment (mandatory)
* Diploma of Instructional Design and/or Diploma of VET (desirable)
* Experience designing and developing VET-compliant learning resources
* Strong knowledge of ASQA standards and the VET regulatory framework
* Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality outputs
* Experience with A New Spring LMS and JR Plus SMS (desirable)
