Surf Coast Shire Council is currently looking to fill an Early Childhood Teacher position at Jan Juc Pre School to commence on Tuesday 27 January, Term One 2026. Early Childhood Teacher
21 hours per week,
14 hours contact time
7 hours non-contact time
Contact time
Wednesday: 8:30am – 3:00pm
Thursday: 8:30am – 3:00pm
Friday: 8:30am – 3.30pm
Our Kindergarten Teachers
* Ensure the provision of a high quality education and care program that meets the approved learning frameworks and National Quality Standards set by the Victorian Government; and
* Support an inclusive and safe environment for children where innovation, creativity, active play and resilience are encouraged.
What You Will Bring To The Role
We are currently looking for an Early Childhood Teacher who is compassionate, dedicated and driven to making a positive impact on the lives of our local community members and their families.
To Thrive In This Role You Will Have
* Knowledge of early childhood development and practice
* Knowledge of approved learning frameworks, National Quality Framework and national law and regulations.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Key selection criteria
Mandatory Qualifications, Experience And Requirements
* Degree in Early Childhood Education or equivalent (AQECQA approved)
* A current Victorian Institute of Teaching Registration (VIT)
* Demonstrated ability to plan, implement and evaluate a quality educational program in accordance with approved learning frameworks.
* Demonstrated knowledge of the National Quality Framework and quality improvement process in children's services.
* Demonstrated ability to adopt an innovative, flexible approach to the provision of children's services.
* Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and contribute towards the development of a productive team culture.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* A current level II First Aid qualification, including Asthma, Anaphylaxis and CPR.
* Demonstrated understanding of the Child Safe Standards and information sharing/MARAM reforms.
* Ability to manage risks and identify health and safety issues pertaining to workplace.
