The Broken Hill Hotel is looking for an experienced and motivated Bar Supervisor to join our team on a full-time basis. This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and the ability to ensure smooth and professional service in a fast-paced venue.
About the Role:
Reporting directly to the Bar Manager and Venue Owner, you will be responsible for overseeing front-of-house operations, supervising food and beverage staff, and ensuring high standards of customer service. The successful candidate will also assist with staff rostering, stock management, and daily financial procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supervise and train food and beverage attendants
* Assist with staff rostering and shift planning
* Oversee front-of-house operations, including the dining area and bar service
* Greet, seat, and serve guests, taking orders and recommending beverages
* Manage reservations and present menus and beverage lists
* Support end-of-shift reconciliation and transaction reporting
* Handle cash, EFTPOS transactions, and daily banking
* Coordinate and conduct stocktakes as needed
* Set and arrange tables, clear and reset dining areas
* Open and serve beverages, including wine pairing recommendations
* Operate POS systems and ensure tills are balanced and stocked with change
* Provide exceptional customer service and maintain patron care standards
Requirements:
* Previous experience in a supervisory role within a bar or restaurant
* Strong knowledge of food and beverage service
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Proven ability to lead and support a team
* Availability to work a rotating roster including nights and weekends
* Current RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certificate
* Approved Managers
