Job Description
Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, you will provide technical support and mentoring for the National workforce for preventative maintenance and repair of all trucks, whilst ensuring health, safety and environment standards are maintained. Ensure maintenance strategy implementation and monitoring to achieve maintenance and productivity targets. Ensure adherence to statutory requirements as minimum standard. This role will be offered as a expatriate FIFO opportunity from/to Australia working on a 16/12-day roster.
Responsibilities
* Safety & Environmental management of risks and hazards in your workplace to ensure no incidents and to achieve 100% compliance of all Safety & Environmental requirements
* Comply with all Systems of Work requirements for the position as per document \"MFM Work Management Process\"
* Show commitment to build relationships for open communication with operations management to maximize production achievements
* Work with the Rubber Tyre Equipment Team to ensure Safety KPI targets are achieved
* Provide guidance direction and coaching to the Trucks personnel and provide opportunities for continuous improvement
* Work with Rubber Tyre Equipment Team to ensure Maintenance KPI targets are achieved
* Provide accurate analysis of maintenance and operating performance of the fleet leading to timely decision making to maintain performance at or above agreed levels
* Participate as a key member of the Maintenance Management Team to assist in the development of initiatives, strategies, standards and policies
* Assist in the ongoing development and compliance of the department, particularly in his/her area of influence, as well as company objectives and strategic plans
* Ensure Environmental controls are given consideration to perform tasks related to inspection, planned/unplanned maintenance events
* Confirm return flights to site are true and accurate prior to departing for Field Break to ensure sufficient manning
Qualifications
To succeed in either role, you will be a trade qualified heavy diesel fitter and have 7+ years' experience on large scale open pit mine. Experience working in developing countries and experience working on Komatsu heavy mobile mining equipment will be highly regarded. A strong focus on behavioural based safety is essential, as well as advanced planning, analytical and problem-solving skills. Communication and cultural awareness is key, strong interpersonal and relationship building skills are a must as well as an appreciation for operating within a developing country.
