About the role
ArchiBuilt Group Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Leading Hand Carpenter to join our team in Geelong, Victoria. As a full-time role, you will play a key part in delivering high-quality construction projects while overseeing and mentoring a team of skilled carpenters.
What you'll be doing
1. Providing hands-on carpentry work and leading a team of carpenters on construction sites
2. Overseeing the daily work activities of the carpentry team, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard
3. Mentoring and training junior carpenters to develop their skills and abilities
4. Liaising with project managers, clients, and other tradespeople to ensure coordinated and collaborative working
5. Maintaining a safe and organised work environment, adhering to all health and safety protocols
6. Providing feedback and recommendations to management on improving processes and practices
What we're looking for
1. Extensive experience as a qualified carpenter, with at least 5 years in a leading hand or supervisory role
2. Strong technical carpentry skills and knowledge of building materials, methods, and regulations
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead and mentor a team
4. A keen eye for detail and problem-solving skills to address challenges on site
5. A valid driver's licence and reliable transportation to reach construction sites
6. A commitment to workplace health and safety
