Math department lead – high school leadership role (rockhampton regional)

An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated and agile educator to join the leadership team at North Rockhampton State High School. As the Head of Department - Mathematics, you will lead curriculum in line with school and departmental initiatives, participate in delivering the vision of State Schools Division, develop the quality of teaching and learning, and nurture positive relationships between students, teachers and stakeholders.

This temporary vacancy is open to Expressions of Interest and any extensions to this appointment will not exceed 12 months.

About The Role

As the Head of Department - Mathematics, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Lead the school department in developing and committing to a shared educational vision focused on achieving high-quality learning outcomes for all students.
• Promote socially just practices and uphold high standards for both student achievement and staff performance.
• Build and maintain strong partnerships with students, parents, government agencies, and community groups to support learning and wellbeing.
• Demonstrate strategic, future-focused leadership, with a strong understanding of relevant legislation and policies affecting students and staff.
• Effectively manage human, financial, facility, and other resources to support the department's objectives.
