This is a Software Asset Management (SAM) Capability Lead role with Canva, based in Sydney, NSW, AU, and open to remote work across ANZ.

Team and Role
This role is within the IT Platform Group, under the Device & Software Management function, responsible for secure and scalable IT tools, devices, and access. You will help define and build our SAM capabilities, focusing on designing, operating, and embedding effective processes and tools.
Key Responsibilities
1. Design and establish scalable SAM processes and tools like Zylo and ServiceNow SAM.
2. Maintain accurate inventory and license data, support renewal processes, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
3. Develop guides and onboarding materials for stakeholders and pilot new tools and dashboards.
4. Scale SAM practices across the organization with feedback and measurable outcomes.
Qualifications
* 5-8+ years in software asset management, SaaS tooling, or related fields.
* Experience with SAM platforms such as Zylo, Torii, Flexera, or ServiceNow SAM.
* Deep understanding of SaaS licensing, usage metrics, and renewal planning.
* Proven ability to build capabilities from scratch and navigate ambiguity.
* Strong communication skills across technical and business stakeholders.
Preferred Skills
* Experience in cost rationalization and cost-saving initiatives.
* Exposure to hyper-growth or autonomous organizational structures.
* Knowledge of Application Portfolio Management and IT operating models.

* Clear visibility of software usage across the organization.
* Better decision-making on tool investments.
* Effective rationalization and strategic enablement of SAM.
