Are you an experienced and reliable person looking for a role that makes a real impact? Casa Services is seeking a compassionate Client Transport Officer to join our Day Program team in Alice Springs. This is a casual role, supporting our services by providing safe and reliable transport for clients on a Monday to Friday basis.
This role is more than just driving. It's about ensuring our clients can access social, recreational, and therapeutic activities with dignity and independence. As a key part of our service delivery, you will build positive relationships and contribute to the well-being of the people we support.
What you'll be doing
* Safely transporting clients to and from the day program following scheduled routes
* Assisting clients with mobility needs, including helping them enter and exit vehicles
* Maintaining accurate transport records and records of incidents
* Completing basic safety checks on the vehicle and reporting any maintenance issues
* Communicating respectfully and effectively with clients, staff, and program managers to foster positive and professional relationships
* Upholding confidentiality and demonstrating respect for client rights, privacy, and cultural backgrounds.
Qualifications and Licences:
* NT C Class driver licence; Heavy Rigid (HR) licence highly desirable.
* Current NDIS worker screening clearance.
* Current national police clearance evidencing no driving offenses.
* Evidence of right to work in Australia.
* COVID-19 vaccination (2 doses + booster).
* First aid certificate, including current CPR.
Experience And Skills
* At least 5 years of professional driving experience
* Confidence in operating heavy rigid vehicles and a strong understanding of road rules
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Knowledge of safe manual handling techniques
* A strong commitment to client safety and well-being.
Bonus Points
* Current working with children's card
* Experience working with vulnerable or diverse populations, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
* Knowledge of the local Alice Springs area and routes.
