About the role
The Solutions Architect is responsible for delivering enterprise-level solution architecture across multiple concurrent initiatives, ensuring solutions are secure by design, cloud-aligned, integration-ready, and scalable for the future. Reporting to the Group Manager Digital Architecture, the Solutions Architect operates across both business and technology domains, supporting project delivery while maintaining architectural integrity and alignment with Flinders Port Holdings’ strategic direction. This includes a strong focus on cloud technologies, enterprise integration standardisation (API‑first, event‑driven patterns), IoT and edge computing, OT/IT convergence, network segmentation, enterprise data platform alignment, AI and emerging systems governance, and cyber resilience within a critical infrastructure environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide solution architecture leadership across multiple initiatives, ensuring alignment with Flinders Port Holdings enterprise architecture standards and strategic technology direction.
* Develop, review and govern solution designs, identifying and mitigating architectural risks relating to integration, security, scalability and operational resilience.
* Guide architecture across cloud, infrastructure and application domains, networking, identity, and platform services.
* Ensure solutions follow modern architecture principles, including cloud‑native design, API‑first integration, event‑driven patterns and infrastructure‑as‑code where appropriate.
* Govern integration architecture across SaaS, cloud and on‑prem systems, including APIs, events, middleware platforms and canonical data models, while preventing point‑to‑point or vendor‑locked solutions.
* Provide architectural oversight of IoT, operational technology and edge environments, ensuring secure integration between OT systems (SCADA, sensors, telemetry) and enterprise IT platforms.
