We have a role available for a Training Area Range (TAR) Supervisor in our Defence division. This is a permanent full-time position based at Robertson Barracks, Northern Territory.

About the role

You will ensure efficient and effective service delivery and Training Area and Range management through meticulous analysis, efficient management of subcontractors and suppliers, and maintaining positive stakeholder relationships. The role requires strong communication and organisational skills, technical proficiency, and the ability to adapt to diverse responsibilities, all while exhibiting leadership qualities essential for overseeing operations and handling emergencies in a critical live-training environment.

Your key responsibilities will include:

* Managing subcontractors/suppliers; initiate corrective actions to ensure quality and timeliness.
* Maintaining stakeholder relationships to meet contract outcomes.
* Delivering daily range briefings per TASO (excluding DOTAM safety briefings).
* Overseeing safe, efficient range operations across facilities, equipment, and personnel.
* Providing on-call support for minor maintenance on TAR sites without Caretakers.
* Maintaining and manage range equipment.
* Allocating TAR sites to users upon induction.
* Issuing/receiving comms gear, keys, and Govt Furnished Equipment to Defence/non-Defence users.
* Administering TAR bookings via Defence system.
* Monitoring/responding to TASnet; maintain accurate electronic logbook.
* Controlling TASnet during emergencies; escort emergency services as needed.
* Performing Caretaker duties on unmanned TAR sites.
* Recommending and implementing service delivery improvements.

About you

Our ideal candidate will have:

* Proven experience overseeing a range operations, safety protocols, and equipment maintenance.
* Experience in coordinating minor maintenance and managed range assets.
* Experience in leading emergency response, including operating comms systems and escorted services.
* Degree/diploma in logistics, management, business admin, or related field would be highly desirable.
* Certifications in OH&S, emergency response, and risk management.
* Range Officer Accreditation or relevant safety training.

You must be an Australian Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
