About the Role
Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) to join Surgical/Colorectal Ward team. Provide high‐quality patient care, support staff development, and contribute to operational leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership and operational management during allocated shifts.
- Coordinate patient flow and bed management to optimise care and service delivery.
- Support and mentor nursing staff, graduates, and students.
- Promote evidence‐based practice and quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with organisational policies and accreditation requirements.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to achieve positive patient outcomes.
- Assist the Nurse Unit Manager with workforce management, performance development, and service planning.
About the Surgical/Colorectal Ward
Specialised care for colorectal, gastrointestinal and general surgical procedures, committed to exceptional patient‐centred care through multidisciplinary innovation and continuous improvement.
About You
To be successful you will possess the following.
Essential Criteria
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
- Demonstrated clinical experience in surgical nursing.
- Previous leadership experience or experience acting in a senior nursing role.
- Strong clinical assessment, decision‐making and problem‐solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational abilities.
- Commitment to patient‐centred care, safety and quality improvement.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
Desirable Criteria
- Postgraduate qualification in perioperative, surgical nursing, leadership or related field.
- Experience in workforce coordination and resource management.
- Knowledge of colorectal enhanced recovery pathways and contemporary surgical nursing practices.
- Participation in quality improvement, accreditation or research activities.
