Is able to maintain and adapt to daily operations, interpret and execute provided instructions, and work reliably with professionalism in a medical office environment.Formal Education RequiredGraduate of an approved Medical Assistant programExperience & Training RequiredOne (1) year related medical office experience; or externship; or associated experience or educationOther Skills, Competencies And QualificationsKnowledge of medical terminology.Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and EMR.Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team.Maintain HIPAA confidentiality.Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity.Ability to travel between locations as needed within the medical group.Required ability to handle bodily fluids and possible exposure to communicable disease.For SHMG (medical group) employees: Ability to obtain Basic Life Support certification within six months of hire with Summa Health and ability to maintain the BLS certification.Must pass yearly clinical skill competenciesLevel Of Physical DemandsMedium: Exerts 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10-25 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force continuously to move objects.
