System Support Specialist
We are seeking a highly skilled System Support Specialist to join our team.
This role is responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining and supporting software applications and delivery systems.
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities:
* Application Management: Install and configure software applications, optimising performance and security while collaborating with vendors and IT teams.
* Maintenance & Support: Regularly update and patch applications to protect against vulnerabilities, monitor performance and troubleshoot issues to minimise downtime.
* User Assistance: Provide expert technical support to end-users, acting as the primary contact for application inquiries and ensuring timely resolutions.
* Security Implementation: Safeguard applications and sensitive data by enforcing security measures and monitoring access and permissions.
* Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for installation, configuration and troubleshooting, fostering efficient issue resolution.
* Collaboration: Work alongside the IT team to integrate applications seamlessly with existing systems, optimising performance through collaboration with developers and network administrators.
* Testing & Validation: Conduct thorough testing of new application releases to ensure compatibility and minimise disruptions, developing test cases to assess functionality.
* Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement solutions to streamline processes, enhance user experience and boost system performance.
* System Installation: Oversee the installation and configuration of servers and workstations, validating end-to-end functionality through rigorous testing.
Requirements:
* 5+ years' experience in a similar role within a corporate or technical environment.
* Proficient in installing, configuring and supporting a range of software applications.
* An understanding of Windows and Linux environments, databases and networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
* Strong problem-solving, communication and documentation skills.
* Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
* Australian citizenship is required to meet Defence security requirements, with the ability and willingness to obtain an NV2 clearance.
