Established in 1879, St Aloysius' College is a Catholic, Jesuit day school for boys from Year 3 to Year 12. Situated in the shadow of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, it has an enrolment of over 1300 students.

About the Role

French Teacher (Part‐Time Contract - Term 2 & 3 2026)

St Aloysius' College is seeking to appoint an experienced and passionate French Teacher to inspire and cultivate the linguistic excellence and cultural appreciation in our students. As a member of our experienced and dedicated Languages Department, you will utilise your expertise to teach French to senior school students across Stage 4 and 5.

This role is responsible for teaching students at all levels of proficiency (Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced) and is instrumental in cultivating a strong foundation in language skills, emphasising the importance of listening, reading, speaking and writing.

The French Teacher will demonstrate contemporary pedagogy and share a passion for innovation, developing and implementing innovative teaching programs that engage, enrich and inspire students learning. They will also create a welcoming, safe, and supportive environment, conducive to meeting the educational needs of students, and demonstrate a deep commitment to the wellbeing of each student.

This is a part‐time (0.4FTE), temporary position for Terms II and III of the 2026 academic year. This role presents an excellent opportunity for professional growth of a recent graduate, or an experienced educator looking to make a meaningful impact and contribute to a vibrant learning community.

Your Application

To be considered for this position, the successful candidate will need to demonstrate:

* Commitment to the mission of Catholic education of boys in the Jesuit tradition;
* Fluency in French language;
* Experience teaching Stage 4 and 5 French are essential, and experience and/or capacity to teach Stage 6 French is advantageous though not essential;
* Ability to create a positive, supportive and engaging classroom climate that meets the academic, social and emotional needs of all students;
* An understanding of the educational needs of boys and young men;
* Ability to design, implement and evaluate curriculum collaboratively in accordance with College and NESA syllabus guidelines and outcomes;
* Proven ability to ensure teaching and learning activities reflect contemporary pedagogy, including the ability to integrate an inquiry‐based approach to teaching and learning and differentiation strategies;
* Understanding of, and ability to use data to analyse, report on and manage student progress, and to report to parents in a variety of ways that keep them regularly and fully informed of their children's progress;
* Strong commitment to safeguarding principles;
* Possess a valid Working with Children Check.
