Australian Golf Digest is seeking an experienced Digital Editor / Online Journalist to join our editorial team on a part-time basis (18.5 hours per week). This role is suited to an established journalist with a strong knowledge of golf and a proven ability to produce accurate, engaging, and insightful content in a digital-first environment.
You will work closely with editors and contributors to deliver high-quality editorial across our website and social channels, contributing to one of the most respected golf media brands in Australia and New Zealand.

Key Responsibilities
* Research, write, and publish original golf content across digital and print platforms
* Produce short-form news, features, and opinion pieces to deadline
* Edit, upload, and manage content using WordPress
* Source, select, and optimise imagery for online publication
* Distribute articles across Australian Golf Digest social channels (Facebook, Instagram, X)
* Engage with readers and followers where appropriate
* Cover a broad range of golf topics, including professional tours, equipment, instruction, travel, golf business, and participation
* Ensure all content meets editorial standards for accuracy, tone, and style
* Identify emerging trends, newsworthy angles, and story opportunities
* Collaborate with editors, photographers, and the wider digital team as required
* Coordinate and compile editorial content for three weekly Australian Golf Digest EDM newsletters
* Respond quickly to breaking news and live golf moments with accurate, timely digital coverage
* Contribute to digital content planning and editorial calendars in line with key golf events and publishing priorities
* Understanding of how different platforms (website, newsletters, social) require different editorial approaches
About You
Essential:
* Minimum 3+ years professional journalism experience (freelance or staff)
* Strong passion for, and working knowledge of, golf
* Demonstrated experience writing for both magazines and online publications
* Social media savvy
* Ability to work independently and consistently meet deadlines
* Strong editorial judgement and attention to detail
* Excellent written English and clear communication skills
Desirable:
* Experience producing or adapting content for social media
* Familiarity with SEO and digital publishing best practice
* Experience covering professional golf, equipment, or golf travel
* An understanding of how audience data and performance insights can inform digital editorial decisions
* Experience creating or contributing to short-form video content for digital and social platforms, including basic on-camera or voice-led storytelling
* Write and optimise digital headlines, standfirsts, and summaries to maximise reach and engagement
