Randwick City Council is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join its Project team, playing a pivotal role in delivering high‐quality building and civic projects across the LGA. This is a senior, highly autonomous role suited to a confident project leader who can operate end‐to‐end across complex capital works.
This role will sit directly above the Coordinator's as the most senior project manager in the team, helping to uplift capability and set delivery standards across a growing, ambitious project portfolio.
Your New Role
As Senior Project Manager, you will independently manage a diverse pipeline of building focused capital works projects from inception through to construction. Working across design management, procurement, documentation, tendering, consultant oversight and delivery, you'll take full ownership of your projects and ensure they are completed to a high standard.
You'll also play a key role in strengthening the team by mentoring junior project staff and contributing to best practice project management approaches across the unit.
Typical Project Involvement Includes Newbuild community facilities
* Building upgrades
* Capital works projects generally in the $15–$30M range
* Exposure to major projects including significant mixed use and social infrastructure developments
What You'll Bring Essential
* Minimum 5 years' experience in full lifecycle project management
* Strong capability across the full project lifecycle including design management, procurement, authority approvals (Development Applications, Complying Development Certificates, Exempt Development and Review of Environmental Factors (REF)) and construction delivery
* Experience delivering building focused projects (vertical works preferred over civil‐heavy experience)
* Solid understanding of Australian Standard consultancy and construction contracts, standards and codes
* Demonstrated ability to run projects with minimal oversight
* Excellent stakeholder engagement, negotiation and communication skills
* Ability to mentor less experienced project managers
* Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Construction Management or a related field
* MS Office suite, including MS project

* Experience delivering major community, civic or vertical building projects
* Project management accreditation or postgraduate qualifications
