Job Title: Machine Tool Technology Specialist
Job Responsibilities:
1. Teach machine tool technology courses, covering theoretical and laboratory concepts.
2. Lead instruction, management, planning, and coordination of students, labs, student enrollment, advisement, recruiting and retention, marketing, and services to the community.
3. Develop curriculum and instructional materials, assessing student learning outcomes and program effectiveness.
4. Demonstrate expertise in subject matter and hold valid teaching credentials, as defined by college policies and accreditation standards.
5. Motivate students through effective instructional methods.
6. Instructional Development:
* Develop and maintain course documentation, select textbooks, and maintain audio-visual and other materials.
* Prepare classes and lab sessions effectively.
* Coordinate events and activities, including weekends and summers.
* Order supplies for curriculum.
7. Teaching Performance:
* Provide students with a syllabus, grading/attendance policy, and relevant information in a timely manner.
* Relate instructional examples and illustrations, pace instruction, provide timely tests, and return results on time.
* Follow department and college grading policies.
* Conduct annual student evaluations of taught courses.
8. Student Advisement:
* Maintain office hours, publicize them, and refer students to other resources when needed.
* Meet with students in a timely manner, displaying sensitivity to their needs and problems.
* Keep accurate records.
9. College and/or Community Service:
* Assist with recruitment and job/transfer placement recommendations.
* Cooperate with other areas to fulfill the college's mission.
* Serve effectively on committees.
10. Instructional Management:
* Submit reports in a timely manner.
* Arrange the physical environment for effective learning.
* Provide classroom/lab supervision, maintaining accurate records.
* Take disciplinary action where necessary.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Master's degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or Technology with two years of teaching and/or industrial experience in Machine Tool Technology.
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or Technology with five years of teaching and/or industrial experience in Machine Tool Technology.
* Associate degree in engineering technology with ten years of teaching and/or industrial experience in Machine Tool Technology.
