About this role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to manage financial records, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and provide strategic financial insights to support business operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Reporting: Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, reports, and budgets.
2. Compliance: Ensure adherence to Australian Accounting Standards (AAS) and taxation regulations.
3. Financial Transactions: Process accounts payable, receivable, and payroll transactions.
4. Tax Preparation: Assist in tax preparation, including BAS, GST, and corporate tax returns.
5. Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis and forecasting to support business decision-making.
6. Accounting Policies: Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
7. Audits: Assist in audits and liaise with external auditors as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Certification: CPA or CA qualification (or working towards certification) is highly desirable.
Experience: Proven experience as an Accountant, preferably in Australia.
Skills: Strong knowledge of Australian taxation laws, financial regulations, and accounting standards. Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, or similar.
Presentation: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
