We are seeking a highly experienced, self-directed Senior CI/CD & Infrastructure Engineer to take full technical ownership of our backend infrastructure, CI/CD environment, and server platforms.
This is a permanent, on-site role based in the Perth office.
You will work closely with backend developers on application design and delivery, but you will be the sole owner and operator of:
* CI/CD architecture, build, and day-to-day operation
* Backend server environments and cloud infrastructure
* Reliability, security, and operational standards
Key Responsibilities
* CI/CD & Infrastructure Ownership (Sole Responsibility):
* Design, build, operate, and support the organisation's CI/CD pipelines and tooling
* Own CI/CD reliability, performance, security, and scalability
* Diagnose and resolve build, deployment, and infrastructure issues independently
* Design and evolve CI/CD and infrastructure architecture as the R&D function grows
* Backend Infrastructure & Systems:
* Build, manage, and maintain backend servers and cloud infrastructure (AWS and/or GCP)
* Administer Linux systems, including shell scripting, system tuning, and automation
* Manage Docker-based environments
* Perform log analysis and root-cause investigations across systems
* Design and maintain monitoring, logging, and security tooling
* Implement security hardening and operational best practices
* Manage core networking fundamentals: DNS, VPNs, routing, and protocols
* Software Development (Collaborative):
* Contribute to backend software development alongside the R&D team
* Work with developers on build, deployment, and runtime considerations
* Provide CI/CD and infrastructure input during design and implementation
Required Experience & Capability:
* 8–10+ years of deep, hands-on technical experience
* Proven experience operating as a sole CI/CD and infrastructure owner
* Strong backend development background (e.g., Go, or similar)
* Strong Linux system administration experience
* Practical cloud infrastructure experience (AWS and/or GCP)
* Docker expertise
* Solid networking fundamentals
* Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
* Comfortable working autonomously with minimal supervision
Additional Information:
* Permanent, full-time position onsite in Perth
