What will my day look like?
We are looking for a detail-driven and energetic Accounts Payable & Payroll Officer to join our Finance Team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you'll be a vital part of the team that keeps Carman's running smoothly — ensuring our people, suppliers, and partners are looked after with care and precision.
Based at our beautiful HQ in Huntingdale, you'll be responsible for managing payables and payroll with accuracy, hustle, and heart — supporting the business during a key period of growth and change.
What You'll Do:
* Manage accounts payable — from invoice processing to EFT payments and creditor ledger maintenance.
* Administer weekly and fortnightly payroll, including superannuation, payroll tax, workers compensation, and all the month-end/year-end bits and pieces.
* Partner with suppliers and internal teams to keep financial processes humming.
* Support month-end reporting, BAS, year-end audit preparation, and finance admin tasks.
* Reconcile bank accounts, petty cash, and fixed asset registers with eagle-eyed precision.
* Spot opportunities for process improvements and help us work smarter, not harder.
* Pitch in and collaborate with teams across Finance, Sales, Operations, Marketing, and People & Culture.
What Are We Looking For?
* Previous experience in accounts payable and payroll roles (bonus points for experience in FMCG or fast-moving environments).
* Excellent interpersonal skills — you're approachable, collaborative, and solutions-focused.
* A love of detail, strong organisational skills, and a knack for juggling priorities with ease.
* Advanced MS Office skills — especially Excel (you actually enjoy a spreadsheet).
* Sound knowledge of statutory compliance requirements.
* A proactive spirit — you don't wait to be asked, you lean in.
* A team player who's happy to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in.

* An ongoing position part time: 0.7 to 0.8 FTE. This can be spread over 4 or 5 days.
