Senior Finance Administrator - Construction

Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Finance Administrator to join their collaborative finance team based in Melbourne's inner city suburbs.

The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, the Senior Finance Administrator will play a key role in supporting the day‐to‐day finance function while ensuring the smooth running of accounts administration processes across the business.
The successful candidate will bring strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and prior experience working within construction, infrastructure, engineering, or project‐based environments.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage end‐to‐end accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
* Process supplier invoices, subcontractor payments, and reconciliations
* Prepare and process weekly and monthly payment runs
* Assist with project costing, job tracking, and financial reporting
* Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and general ledger accounts
* Support month‐end and year‐end finance processes
* Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
* Liaise with internal project teams, suppliers, and external stakeholders
* Assist with payroll administration and timesheet processing where required
* Monitor outstanding accounts and follow up on overdue payments
* Ensure compliance with company policies and financial procedures
* Provide administrative support to the broader finance team as required
* Contribute to process improvement initiatives and system enhancements
Skills & Experience
* Previous experience in a Senior Finance Administration, Accounts Officer, or Assistant Accountant position
* Experience within construction, infrastructure, or related industries - Essential
* Strong understanding of accounts payable, receivable, and reconciliations
* Exposure to project‐based accounting environments
* High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
* Experience using ERP/accounting systems such as MYOB, Pronto, SAP, Oracle, or similar
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines
