What You Will Be Doing
As a Pathology Collector (Phlebotomist), you will collect blood and coordinate specimen samples from patients, using your empathy and drive to deliver excellent customer service and quality health care.
* Collect samples (blood and non-blood) with care and attention.
* Keep meticulous records for every patient and sample.
* Deliver documentation within strict turnaround times.
* Prepare and package specimens for transport and testing.
* Liaise with a range of people including customers, clinic staff and couriers.
Person and Skills Profile
To be successful in this role, you should:
* Have experience as a Pathology Collector, or hold a Certificate III in Pathology Collection, or be a registered nurse looking for regular daytime shifts.
* Possess a background in healthcare with a customer-service focus, if you have no experience in pathology collection.
* Demonstrate experience and knowledge in phlebotomy or relevant healthcare background.
* Show excellent customer-service and communication skills, with a high level of empathy.
* Be organised, with strong time-management and attention to detail.
* Work autonomously, sometimes independently in a solo clinic.
* Hold a valid driver's licence and have flexibility to travel to multiple clinics.
* Hold or be willing to obtain a Working With Children Check.
* Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident, a New Zealand citizen, or hold a valid visa with permission to work.
Vaccination Requirements
* Proof of vaccine-preventable disease evidence such as Hepatitis B is required.
* Additional vaccinations may be required based on location.
